Talking Indiana Jones by Hasbro

I'm a sucker when it comes to Indiana Jones. The 12" adventurer (original tomb raider) just cannot escape my grasp if the price is right. So I picked up this talking Indiana Jones by Hasbro. Yeah, I know that's not Harrison Ford (not even close) but I'm eyeing his accessories, namely the fedora.

Somehow, the prototype picture featured on the back of the box seems better than the final product.

The talking feature is quite cool - he talks i.e. utters 11 movie phrases when you press a button on his torso and his mouth opens and closes (stretchable rubber over his face, which explains why he looks like he's got the mumps). Me and the boys had some fun with this button.

Fat-face indy out of box, with trademark fedora,  jacket, belt with holster and coiled whip, additional rubber whip, revolver and golden idol.

The head sculpt reminds me more of Peter Falk as Lieutenant Columbo, a homicide detective with the Los Angeles Police Department who is a scruffy looking cop that is usually underestimated by the murderer and his fellow cops. Despite his appearance, he solves all of his cases, managing to come up with the hard evidence he needs in order to get an indictment.
