Faramir from Lord of the Rings by Sideshow

Out of the blue, without any logic, rhyme or reason, Sideshow throws us a curve ball and releases Faramir (WTF?!). Here we are, patiently waiting for the completion of the Fellowship of the Ring with the releases of Aragorn, Legolas and Boromir and expecting Gandalf and the rest to appear but instead we get Faramir, who isn't part of the Fellowship nor appears even in the first instalment of Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Faramir, second son of Denethor and brother of Boromir, is the leader of the Ithilien Rangers of Gondor and leads his men into battle against the dark forces of Mordor and keeps the people of Ithilien safe in "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002)". He captures Frodo, Sam and Gollum but later frees them to complete their quest to destroy the One Ring of Sauron.

Faramir comes with shirt and pants, covered by a long vest. This 'vest' hangs down in strips that look like a skirt. His shirt has leather padding at both sides of his upper arms and he wears vambraces as well. He also wears a brown leather surcoat with white tree print and a hooded cloak, belt with sheath for his long sword, longbow and arrows, quiver made of hard plastic shell with leather straps attached to it and a removable cloth insert with drawstrings that holds the arrows.

Faramir is played by David Wenham  who was also Dilios the Spartan and narrator in "300 (2007)" - beautiful retelling of the Battle of Thermopylae by Frank Miller.

Faramir with his long sword

Faramir with his longbow - very nicely done

Open letter to Sideshow: Faramir is a NICE distraction BUT still a distraction nonetheless. Let's get on with the Fellowship, shall we?
