HT T2 T-800 & Die-cast T-800 Endoskeleton

And here's Hot Toys MMS117 "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" ("T2" for short) 1/6th scale T-800 cyborg (Arnold Schwarzenegger) collectible figure facing off with the Aoshima die-cast T-800 Endoskeleton. The Aoshima die-cast T-800 Endoskeleton is very heavy due to its mostly die-cast metal parts and has lots of working pistons and joints. The figure comes with a stand that clamps onto the back of the figure to provide stability when posing due to the extremely top heavy body.

Hot Toys "T2" T-800 "Arnie" figure REVIEW II

continued from my previous post...

Having seen the box packaging and contents of this latest Hot Toys release in the last post, now we see everything come together. Here's Hot Toys MMS117 "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" 1/6th scale T-800 cyborg (Arnold Schwarzenegger) collectible figure as he appears in the mall, looking for the young ten-year-old John Connor (Edward Furlong).

The T-800 Terminator is dressed in his outfit of gray-color T-shirt, black leather-like jacket and pants with a leather-like belt with buckle, and black-color boots. He's wearing Black-lens sunglasses with black-color frame and carries a gold-color box containing what appears to be half a dozen roses.

Hot Toys "Terminator 2" T-800 12-inch figure REVIEW 1

When "The Terminator" first arrived on our movie screens in 1984, I was blown away. The concept was quite new ("Back to the Future" didn't happen till 1985) - a killing machine sent from the future into our present to eliminate the future threat from ever existing. "The Terminator" was a low-budget movie, at roughly US$6.4 million, which turned out to be a box-office hit, earning US$38,371,200 domestically. The film went on to gross more than US$78 million worldwide.

James Cameron followed on his success with "Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)", this time with Arnold Schwarzenegger as the hero instead of the villain, playing a different but visually identical Terminator cyborg reprogrammed to protect a young John Connor from the more advanced T-1000 model (played by Robert Patrick). The rest, as they say, is Terminator history.

Now that we've seen preview pictures of Hot Toys T-1000 in Sarah Connor disguise (see previous post), let's compare that with the Hot Toys MMS117 "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" 1/6th scale T800 collectible figure in-hand pictures. Click on the pictures for a bigger and better view ;)

Very nicely designed box slipcase cover with a shot of the Hot Toys T-800 proudly displayed on the front - that is the quality that can be achieved with 1/6 scale head sculpts nowadays.

Hot Toys T-1000 in Sarah Connor disguise (2010 Toy Fairs Exclusive) Preview

The T-1000 is a fictional android assassin and the main antagonist in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The T-1000 is portrayed primarily by Robert Patrick; however, being a shape-shifter, the T-1000 is played by other actors in some scenes of the film. In Terminator 2, the T-1000 is presented as a technological leap over the "800 Series" Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger). [source: wiki]

Elite Brigade 1:6 scale Medieval Knight by Cotswold

A Knight to call my own. This 1:6 scale 12-inch miniaturized version of a Medieval Knight in his full armor is hand-made entirely of steel (where it should be) with leather fittings. Produced by Cotswold Collectibles, Inc. for their Elite Brigade line of figures more than ten years ago, this knight was part of their vision to realize the medieval knights of old in 1:6 scale, including their full armor and they actually approached the descendants of the original knight armor makers to cast these to scale.

The Medieval Knight was one of three types of fighting men during the middle ages: Knights, Foot Soldiers, and Archers. The medieval knight was the equivalent of the modern tank. He was covered in multiple layers of armor, and could plow through foot soldiers standing in his way.

Toys City German Mountain Troop "MG 34 Gunner" PREVIEW

Toys City and Merit International will be offering a WWII German Mountain Troop "MG 34 Gunner" with yet another ED Harris head sculpt. Toys City had just released the 1:6 scale Major König World War II German Sniper 12-inch military figure with WWII Swedish type winter jacket (Preview pictures HERE) which also came with a Ed Harris lookalike headsculpt so it's really strange for them to release yet another Ed Harris HS.

Another observation: How is it that Toys City was able to preview a much better Sean Connery HS (pictures HERE) and yet this Ed Harrid HS looks rather poor in comparison?

Soldier Story CIA SAD Night Ops Ver 2.0 REVIEW 2

continued from previous post...

The Special Activities Division (SAD) is a division of the United States Central Intelligence Agency's (CIA) National Clandestine Service (NCS) responsible for covert operations, black operations and other "special activities." These include covert political action and paramilitary special operations. [source: wiki]

Since the CIA SAD is covert and black ops, no one is going to confirm or deny if this Soldier Story 1/6 scale 12-inch CIA SAD Night Ops Ver 2.0 operator / military figure has the proper or correct getup (outfit) but who really cares ;) this figure just looks too damn COOL

Soldier Story CIA SAD Night Ops Ver 2.0 REVIEW 1

Finally, here are in-hand pictures of the Soldier Story 1/6 scale 12-inch CIA SAD Night Ops Version 2.0 military figure. Well, here is the latest version 2.0 and this one's disappearing pretty fast too.

Sideshow 501st Legion: Vader's Fist Clone Trooper PRE-ORDER

An elite unit of clone troopers, and later stormtroopers, that came to symbolize the might of the Galactic Empire, the 501st Legion were the soldiers under the command of Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith. Also known as "Vader's Fist," they continued to enforce order and Imperial rule well after the death of Vader.

The 501st began just as any of the other initial clone units that blazed across the rocky deserts of Geonosis in the first historic battle of the Clone Wars. They seemed identical to the other clones that infiltrated the Separatist stronghold and pushed the Confederacy forces off-planet.

The 501st Legion was split into special mission groups, often to supplement other clone missions. In some cases, they operated independent of the command structure already in place. There were 501st troopers protecting the skies over Coruscant during General Grievous' bold strike against the capital. Others provided support to clone units on worlds such as Felucia, Mygeeto, Utapau and Kashyyyk.

The 501st Legion: Vader's Fist Clone Trooper 12 inch Figure features: Fully articulated male body (armored body) with 30+ points of articulation, Bodysuit, Fully detailed armor set with helmet, Clone Trooper Carbine Blaster, Clone Trooper Long Rifle, 12-inch Figure Display Base with Star Wars Logo

The Passing of a GREAT artist

Frank Frazetta (February 9, 1928 – May 10, 2010) was an American fantasy and science fiction artist, noted for his work in comic books, paperback book covers, paintings, posters, record-album covers, and other media. Pioneering fantasy artist Frank Frazetta, whose visions of muscle-bound men fighting with swords and axes, and scantily clad women helped define fantasy heroes such as Conan, Tarzan and John Carter of Mars, died of a stroke on May 10, 2010, in a hospital near his residence in Fort Myers, Florida. He was 82.

What's it all about? According to the creators Triad Toys, the US Government creates a new splinter faction called “Dead Cell.” Dead Cell members comprise of only the best special ops members across the world and are armed with the latest technology and weaponry to combat the undead.

Steam Punk pistols? Really?

Jade's outfit looks a lot like the one worn by Alice (Milla Jovovich) from the third Resident Evil movie - "Resident Evil: Extinction (2007)"

And instead of two Kukri knives, Jade has a Meat Cleaver (not sure why it's called a "Tactical " cleaver)

Also featured: Triad Toys 1/6 scale themed display environments - Fire Fight Triarama. Cast in high density polystone, the Fire Fight Triarama depicts a scene riddled with ammo rounds after a major battle. It also features two magnets to use with Triad's bullet-time system to display your figures.

That's really a lot of bullet casings / empty cartridges. Not since "The Matrix: Revolutions (2003)" where the APUs (Armored Personnel Units) battled the massive horde of Sentinels have I seen so many casings in one place.
