Check out S.H. Figuarts Gray Man DX Set which is designed for artists in mind: what a figure it is!

I think it's very cool when an action figure can do almost everything a human can because when that happens, realistic poses can be achieved. Also, if one is an aspiring artist or someone who is just interested in the human form and its anatomy, super pose-able action figures will give one the inspiration to observe a figure from different angles and get the best perspective when it comes to drawing or photographing the subject matter.

That is one of the reasons why I got into this 1:6 scale collectible hobby. Besides the ultra detailed fabric clothing / outfits designed and made in 1:6 scale, including the weapons, gear and accessories, when put on a 12-inch figure with good articulation, you can really appreciate the art that went into producing the figure, with realism and trueness to form being the end result. What with Hot Toys leading the industry in this area, the 1:6 scale modeling hobby has certainly grown by leaps and bounds.

Smaller size action figures seem to lag behind in this particular area of articulation but it seems TAMASHII NATIONS wants to put an end to that. They have released pictures of their S.H. Figuarts Gray Man DX Set which looks to revolutionize the market.

TAMASHII NATIONS introduces a new breakout line from S.H. Figuarts of highly realistic, articulated figures created with the artist in mind. Over recent years, the numbers of digital artists has increased rapidly and with TAMASHII NATIONS’ new humanoid figure collection; you can easily create poses to create the most dynamic of drawings! Over 30 articulated joints make it even easier to recreate a desired pose or action. The DX set includes everything you need to create a masterpiece: interchangeable hands (x17), mini book, PC, tablet, model gun, sword, pen, smartphone, cell phone, and special display base.

Scott Edward Adkins (born 17 June 1976) is an English actor and martial artist who is best known for playing Yuri Boyka in Undisputed II: Last Man Standing (2006). After this Scott had guest starring roles in bigger budget films like The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) and The Tournament (2009), Undisputed III: Redemption, Bradley Hume in Holby City, Ed Russell in Mile High and as Hector in The Expendables 2.

Hot Toys 1st Avenger Captain America rides 1:6 WLA 45 Harley Davidson Military Motorcycle

continued from previous post...

Having posted pictures of 1:6 scale Captain Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) in his WWII U.S. Army military uniform (with the fictional insignia made just for the movies) in my earlier action figure review of the POP TOYS Style Series X19 1/6th scale WWII Captain military uniform suit A on my toy blog HERE, here's a post of Captain Steve Rogers in his other WWII uniform, that of the star spangled red-white-and-blue outfit of Captain America, the superhero created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby for Timely Comics, a predecessor of Marvel Comics.

This is the Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series MMS156 1/6th scale Captain America: The First Avenger 12-inch Collectible Figure (reviewed HERE, HERE and HERE). This was the first Captain America figure ever released by Hot Toys and it was back in 2011. Many Captain Americas have since been produced and released, with the most recent being Cap from the 2015 "Avengers: Age of Ultron" film (posted HERE, HERE and HERE).

It's nice to see how the Captain America costume has evolved in the films and it's even nicer to be able to own some of these costumes in 1:6 scale, especially when Hot Toys has paid so much attention to the details so that fabrics and materials used stay closely to the film version and be as movie-accurate as possible. That is what I really appreciate about this 1:6 scale hobby where the uniforms / outfits / costumes are produced and replicated in such fine detail that even the fabric and materials used can be as close to the actual 1:1 product as much as possible. You just can't get that with the smaller sized plastic moulded action figures. Hot Toys 12-inch First Avenger Captain America (WWII Captain America) collectible figure didn't come with the 1:6 scale WWII U.S. Army motorcycle he is seen riding in the film. So I decided to put Cap on a Hasbro produced G.I. Joe U.S. Army WLA 45 Harley Davidson Military Motorcycle released in 1998.

POPTOYS Style Series X19 1/6th scale WWII Captain military uniform suit A - 12" Steve Rogers

Hollywood and movie making in general tend to make things up in order to make the story / film they are selling more interesting or appealing to audiences, at times taking liberties with history in order to satisfy the current generation of moviegoers who may or may not be aware that they are being hoodwinked. One of those films was U-571, a 2000 war film about a World War II German submarine being boarded in 1942 by disguised United States Navy submariners seeking to capture her Enigma cipher machine. In reality, it was British personnel from HMS Bulldog who first captured a naval Enigma machine (from U-110 in the North Atlantic in May 1941), months before the United States had even entered the war. The anger over the inaccuracies even reached the British Parliament, where Prime Minister Tony Blair stated that the film was an "affront" to British sailors.

Also, black soldiers did not fight alongside white soldiers in the U.S. Army in World War II. But you wouldn’t know that by looking at Captain America: The First Avenger. Hollywood was just trying to be politically correct given the current situation in the United States. Racial revisionism has become so common in film that it’s almost customary, so much so that moviegoers rarely balk or even blink. One could argue that the events in the film is taking place in an alternate universe where the U.S. Army was integrated and forget about how the blacks were never allowed to fight alongside their white American comrades until the Korean War in 1951.

According to Pop Toys, actor Chris Evans who plays the role of Captain America wore military uniforms which were different when compared to the actual World War II American soldiers’ military uniforms. So they decided to make clothing according to the style of uniforms in the film.

And this is what you get :)

POPTOYS Style Series X19 1/6th scale WWII Captain military uniform suit A is very well cut and stitched and the fit on 12-inch Steve Rogers is as perfect as it can get IMHO The fabric materials used are not too thick and doesn't cause the figure to suddenly bulk up and look fat or bloated. It fits the figure very well and makes Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) look really smart and distinguished. The United States Army really knows how to dress a soldier and make him look good.

Hot Toys MMS289 "Avengers: Age of Ultron" 1/6th scale Hawkeye Collectible Figure Review II

continued from previous toy blog post...

You can buy this from Sideshow Collectibles

This action figure review post is all about Hot Toys MMS289 "Avengers: Age of Ultron" 1/6th scale Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton / Hawkeye Collectible Figure in action poses. I have already covered the packaging and contents in my first part review HERE.

Hawkeye (Clint Barton) is a fictional superhero appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist Don Heck, the character first appeared as a villain in Tales of Suspense #57 (Sept. 1964) and later joined the Avengers in Avengers #16 (May 1965). He has been a prominent member of the team ever since.

Hawkeye is portrayed by Jeremy Renner in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a shared fictional universe that is the setting of films produced by Marvel Studios. Renner first made an uncredited cameo appearance in Thor (2011) and later played a larger role in The Avengers (2012) and Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). He is reprising the role in the upcoming film Captain America: Civil War (2016).

In the comic books, while Hawkeye has no superhuman powers, he is at the very peak of human conditioning. He is an exceptional fencer, acrobat and marksman, having been trained from childhood in the circus and by the criminals Trick Shot and Swordsman. Hawkeye excels in the use of ranged weapons, especially the bow and arrow, and carries a quiver containing a number of customized "trick arrows".

JT Studio 1/6th Journey to the West Monkey King W 12-inch figure designed by Jei Tseng

Journey to the West is a Chinese novel published in the 16th century during the Ming dynasty and attributed to Wu Cheng'en. It is one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature. In English-speaking countries, the work is widely known as Monkey, the title of Arthur Waley's popular abridged translation. The novel is an extended account of the legendary pilgrimage of the Tang dynasty Buddhist monk Xuanzang who traveled to the "Western Regions", that is, India, to obtain sacred texts (sūtras) and returned after many trials and much suffering. Xuanzang has three protectors who agree to help him as an atonement for their sins. These disciples are Sun Wukong, Zhu Wuneng and Sha Wujing, together with a dragon prince who acts as Xuanzang's steed, a white horse.

Designer Jei Tseng liked Journey To The West as a child, and started collecting 12-inch figures for many years. Now he has decided to design and create his own version of Journey To The West products, in order to break the traditional impression of Journey To The West, with a combination of modern pop elements from Chinese art and comic style of artworks, all hand-made for the series.

Monkey king W details: Head, Body, Shirt, Pants , Bag x2, Action tail, Action scarf, Action cape, Monkey arms, Monkey legs, Monkey hands, Monkey feet, Metal weapon (staff), Banana, Crown, Designed packing box, Numbered card, Poster. Hot Toys teases with 1/6th "Back to the Future II" Marty McFly 12-inch figure on Oct 21, 2015

"We're descending toward Hill Valley, California, at 4:29 pm, on Wednesday, October 21st, 2015."

I was expecting Hot Toys to reveal pictures of their 1/6th scale "Back to the Future II" Marty McFly 12-inch figure today since it's October 21, 2015 - known all over the world as Back to the Future Day, the date that Marty McFly and Dr Emmett “Doc” Brown chose to travel forward in time from 1985 in the hit sequel Back To The Future II.

I have seen the prototype figure on display at the Hot Toys booth at the Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) 2015 - see my toy blog post HERE - but even then, the head sculpt just wasn't up to the standard we have come to expect of Hot Toys and they know it which is why they never reveal the face of Marty McFly (Michael J Fox) even in the teaser picture released.

According to the time-bending 1980s sci-fi flick, by October 21 2015, we would be living in a world of hoverboards, flying cars and self-tying shoelaces. And now that the day has actually arrived. While we’re no nearer to a flying car than when the film was released in 1989, it got some things right.

And Hot Toys 1/6th scale "Back to the Future II" Marty McFly 12-inch figure will come with the jacket that dries itself and shoes that lace themselves up as well as the Hover Board. Now where's that Pepsi bottle?

Review 1: Hot Toys MMS289 "Avengers: Age of Ultron" 1/6th scale Hawkeye Collectible Figure

You can buy this from Sideshow Collectibles

This was from my September 2015 haul - you can check out the other stuff I got on my toy blog HERE

With the release of Marvel’s "Avengers: Age of Ultron" this year, 12-inch figure collectors like me get another chance to have a shot at Hot Toys 1:6 scale Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton / Hawkeye. When the previous Hot Toys MMS172 "The Avengers" 1/6th scale Hawkeye Limited Edition Collectible Figure was previewed for pre-orders, there just wasn't many takers and when the product was finally released, many latecomers missed out on owning Hawkeye and the price for that particular figure skyrocketed, especially for those "completist" collectors who wanted to have all the members from the Avengers in their collection.

We all know that there's going to be more than one Avengers film and that all the members will assemble again for the sequel so I just waited for the release of this Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series MMS289 "Avengers: Age of Ultron" 1/6th scale Hawkeye Collectible Figure. Hot Toys tend to get better over time and I was willing to wait for this second round of Avengers figures because I believe that they'll look better in terms of sculpting compared to the first round version. And I'm quite glad I waited :)

Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series MMS289 "Avengers: Age of Ultron" 1/6th scale Hawkeye Collectible Figure specially features: Authentic and detailed likeness of Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton / Hawkeye in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" with movie-accurate facial features including detailed wrinkles and skin texture on an approximately 30 cm (12-inch) tall body with over 30 points of articulations. Let's face it: Hot Toys is the industry leader as far as 1:6 scale figures go and their products are all of museum quality i.e. they can easily be featured in a museum and people will go and see the displays without questioning their authenticity. Hot Toys has brought the level of 1:6 to a whole new different level never seen before and because of the company's high standards, other companies are following in their footsteps and they are not too far behind. A fine example would be Art Figures AF-015 1/6th scale Heavy Armoured Special Cop "DREDD" 12-inch figure released late last year (see my action figure review posts HERE and HERE)

Oct 2015 Haul: Hot Toys Star Wars 1:6 scale Han Solo, Chewbacca; Jango Fett, Black Storm Guard, Samurai Darth Vader & Rogers' uniform

Looks like October 2015 is Star Wars month for me LOL

Among the items I got as part of my October 2015 haul are the recently released Hot Toys Star Wars 1:6 scale Han Solo and Chewbacca collectible figures, Sideshow Collectibles Exclusive Star Wars 1/6th scale Jango Fett Bounty Hunter 12-inch Figure, VTS Toys (VM-011) 1/6th scale Catton Lewis Black Storm Guard Team Leader 12-inch figure, Bandai Star Wars Movie Realization Samurai Taisho Darth Vader 18 cm action figure and POP TOYS 1/6th Style Series X19 WWII Captain military uniform (Model A) for 12-inch figures.

The POPTOYS 1/6th Style Series X19 WWII Captain military uniform (Model A) was designed to be worn by a 12-inch Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) action figure as seen in the Captain America films released by Marvel Studios, most notable during his World War II days before he was frozen and revived later to join the Avengers. The military uniform Steve Rogers wore had fictional insignias not based on actual WWII military uniforms, since the story is also fiction and not real. The preview pictures released by Pop Toys (posted HERE) showed off the fine stitching and quality materials used by Pop Toys for their product and I really wanted a smartly dressed WWII Steve Rogers in military uniform standing next to the Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series MMS156 1/6th scale Captain America Limited Edition 12-inch Collectible Figurine from the blockbuster movie "Captain America: The First Avenger" which I had reviewed earlier HERE, HERE and HERE.

Preview Sideshow Collectibles Star Wars: Episode V 1:6 scale Imperial AT-AT Driver figure

“Echo Station 3-T-8. We have spotted Imperial walkers!”

From Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Sideshow Collectibles is proud to present the Imperial AT-AT Driver Sixth Scale Figure.

Suited for cold climate battle, the AT-AT driver comes fitted in a standard-issue uniform, featuring a streamlined helmet connected by pressurized hoses to a life support system, and glossy white armor over a pristine grey flight suit. Interchangeable driving gauntlets feature a com-link and allow dexterity for handling AT-AT controls, while positive gravity pressure boots keep him grounded in all situations.

Review III: Glitch Network Mitsuru Technology BoneHead Test Subject 56 1/6th scale figure

continued from previous post...

This is Glitch Network's Sixth Vision Mitsuru Technology BoneHead Test Subject 56 aka Machine56 1/6th scale collectible figure unleashing fury with his big a** Mech Slayer sword. Not much of a back story to his figure but I liked this 12-inch figure the moment I saw it at Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) 2015 - see my toy blog post HERE. This Glitch Network's Sixth Vision Mitsuru Technology BoneHead Test Subject 56 1/6th scale collectible figure comes with 1/6th scale Varsity jacket, red T-shirt, black pants and shoes; 3 (three) pairs of interchangeable hands, custom Baseball bat with hidden blade (Die-cast), Mech Slayer and A5 size limited print. I've already covered the figure with his baseball bat which comes with hidden blade in my action figure review posts HERE and HERE.

This is one of those 12-inch figures I knew nothing about until I saw it on display and had to get it. That's rather rare nowadays because most products are actually previewed and put on pre-order before they are produced and released. There were at least two other 12-inch action figures released by Medicom Toy that I bought first before finding out who they were after they were in my hands. They are Medicom Toy RAH (Real Action Heroes) 1:6 scale Mad Capsule Markets: White Crusher and Black Cyborn 12-inch figures reviewed on my toy blog HERE and HERE. I like the overall design and how the outfit matches the head (helmet) which has a skull design on it, hence the name bone-head. Not much in terms of accessories but just enough for putting the figure in some nice poses.

Play Toy 1:6 Dino Expert Outfit Set is what Chris Pratt as Owen Grady wore in Jurassic World

Jurassic World is a 2015 American science fiction adventure film, the fourth instalment of the Jurassic Park series. Set twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Jurassic World takes place on the same fictional island of Isla Nublar, off the Pacific coast of Central America, where a fully functioning dinosaur theme park has operated for ten years. The park plunges into chaos when a genetically modified dinosaur, Indominus rex, breaks loose and runs rampant across the island.

Chris Pratt stars as Owen Grady, a Velociraptor expert and trainer who springs into action when things spiral out of control. Right after his breakthrough role in 2014's "Guardians of the Galaxy" as Peter Quill / Star-Lord, Jurassic World became his most financially successful film.

Now from Play Toy comes this 1:6 scale Dino Expert Outfit Set which is designed to replicate what Chris Pratt as Owen Grady wore in Jurassic World. The set features: Shirt, Vest, Pants, Belt and Shoes. Check out PLAY TOY PT-P011 1:6 scale "Stacy" Female Figure - Is she Emma Stone or not?

Gwendolyn Maxine "Gwen" Stacy is a fictional character who appears in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, usually as a supporting character in those featuring Spider-Man. A college student, Gwen was originally the first true love of Peter Parker before she was murdered by his nemesis Norman Osborn. Spider-Man writers and fans alike often debate whether Peter's "one true love" is Gwen Stacy, or his subsequent love interest, Mary Jane Watson, though stories written long after her death indicate that Gwen still holds a special place in his heart.

The character has been portrayed by Bryce Dallas Howard in the 2007 film Spider-Man 3 and by Emma Stone as Peter Parker's friend and love interest in the 2012 reboot film The Amazing Spider-Man and the sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2

PLAY TOY will be releasing a 12-inch female figure: PT-P011 1:6 scale "Stacy" Female Figure will come with Head Sculpt, Female Body, Hands X 1 Pair, Coat, Shirt / Blouse, Short Skirt, Stockings, Boots X 1 Pair.

Glitch Network Mitsuru Technology BoneHead Test Subject 56 1/6th scale figure Review II

continued from previous post...

This is the Glitch Network Sixth Vision Mitsuru Technology Bone Head Test Subject 56 aka Machine56 1/6th scale collectible figure which I had gotten from the recently concluded Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) 2015 - see my haul posted on my toy blog HERE. The first part of this 12-inch action figure review (posted HERE) covered the box packaging, contents and accessories plus pictures of the figure with his baseball bat. As I mentioned in the first review post, the baseball bat has a hidden blade in it.

Here's Glitch Network's Sixth Vision Mitsuru Technology BoneHead Test Subject 56 1/6th scale collectible figure which comes with 1/6th scale Varsity jacket, red T-shirt, black pants and shoes unsheathing the sword hidden inside his baseball bat. I really dig this figure with the nicely designed head / red-and-white helmet with the skull (bonehead) marked out in red and framed by the whites to his matching red-and-white varsity jacket with the five-six mark written in Chinese characters on his left sleeve and in number form on his right sleeve. On his chest are the numbers 50-60 and on the back of the jacket there's a rather nice skull design too.

Kotobukiya "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" Captain Phasma ARTFX+ Statue

Phasma was a female individual who lived approximately thirty years after the Battle of Endor. Phasma served as a Captain in the First Order and wore a reflective suit of armor similar to that of a stormtrooper. Clad in distinctive metallic armor, Captain Phasma commands the First Order’s legions of troopers. Phasma was first revealed in the second teaser trailer for Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens on April 16, 2015. On May 4, 2015, it was confirmed that Phasma will be portrayed by Gwendoline Christie.

Captain Phasma's name is derived from the 1979 horror film Phantasm; Phasma's chrome armor reminded J.J. Abrams of the film's antagonist, a murderous silver sphere.

Not much is known about Captain Phasma until the upcoming American epic space opera film "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" opens in theatres on December 18, 2015. In the meantime, we can at least have an idea of how bada$$ she looks in her armor and cape, courtesy of these official preview pictures by Kotobukiya of their soon-to-be-released "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" Captain Phasma ARTFX+ Statue.

Review 1: Glitch Network Mitsuru Technology BoneHead Test Subject 56 1/6th scale figure

This 12-inch action figure I'm reviewing is from my STGCC 2015 haul (see my toy blog post HERE) - Glitch Network Sixth Vision Mitsuru Technology Bone Head Test Subject 56 aka Machine56 1/6th scale collectible figure. Quite a mouthful but basically he's supposed to be a Test Subject number 56 and also called Bone Head because you can make out the skull face (red colored parts) set against the whites of his head / helmet. Not even sure if there's supposed to be a head under there since there's not much of a back story surrounding this figure / character. This is one of those figures that came out of nowhere which was on display at Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) 2015 and since it was being offered, I decided to get it as I liked what I saw on display.

The figure looks to be based on concepts derived from Japanese anime / manga influences as I've seen characters from Japanese comic books wearing Varsity jackets wielding baseball bats before. One fine example is Kai from Saru gang, part of Medicom Toy Tokyo Tribe 2 series - see my post HERE. Another 12-inch figure released recently who wields a baseball bat is DAM Toys Gangsters Kingdom 1/6th scale Spade 2 action figure - you can check out my action figure review HERE and HERE. MC Toys also released a 1/6th scale outfit set with Varsity jacket embroidered with Iron Man logo - see my posts HERE and HERE.

continued from previous post...

Arnold Schwarzenegger is an actor who has also been a professional bodybuilder and politician (the Governator). Schwarzenegger began his acting career primarily with small roles in film and television. For his first film role, he was credited as "Arnold Strong", but was credited with his birth name thereafter. Schwarzenegger has acted in over thirty films, mainly in science fiction, action, and comedy films.

Schwarzenegger has been the primary character in two film franchises: as Conan in the Conan series and as The Terminator in the Terminator series. Other roles include John Matrix in Commando, Ben Richards in The Running Man, Major Alan "Dutch" Schrieffer in Predator, Douglas Quaid in Total Recall, Jack Slater in Last Action Hero and Harry Tasker in True Lies.

With the release of the most recent 1/6th scale Arnold Schwarzenegger 12-inch figure by Hot Toys - you can check out my action figure review of Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series MMS276 1/6th scale John Matrix Collectible Figure posted on my toy blog HERE and HERE - I thought I'll put some of the Arnold Schwarzenegger figures I have together for a group picture, just like what I've done previously for Batman (post HERE) and Indiana Jones (pictures HERE), among others.

The three figures you see in the picture above are Hot Toys released Arnold Schwarzenegger as T-800 Terminator figures from the Terminator series. There were other Arnold Schwarzenegger action figures released as well and you can see them all in this post.

Square Enix Play Arts Kai 1/7th scale DC Variant "Batman Timeless" Spartan Batman action figure

Subject to military drill from early manhood, the Spartans were one of the most feared military forces in the Greek world. At the height of Sparta's power – between the 6th and 4th centuries BC – it was commonly accepted that, "one Spartan was worth several men of any other state." The term "spartan" became synonymous with multiple meanings such as: fearlessness, harsh and cruel life, bland and lacking creativity, or simplicity by design.

What if Batman had chosen the Spartan symbol as his call to arms instead of the bat? OR what if Batman had lived during the period of the Spartans? Wonder no more.

Square Enix has released official photos of their Play Arts Kai DC Variant – Batman Timeless: Spartan Batman 1/7th scale action figure which is scheduled for release in March 2016. The figure will be priced at 14,800 Yen (about $123 USD), so expect it to be about $150 when pre-orders hit. The Spartan Batman includes a spear, a long sword, four daggers, a shield and a figure stand.

I'm really excited about this Spartan Batman 10-inch tall action figure. He looks really bada$$ (or is it "BATa$$" haha) and would certainly strike fear into the hearts of criminals and evil doers alike. Can't wait to add him to my growing Square Enix Play Arts Kai action figure collection :)

Hot Toys MMS276 1/6th Arnold Schwarzenegger as "Commando" John Matrix 12" Figure Review II

The Assault on Arius' Massion!

Having covered the box packaging and contents as well as posting pictures of topless Arnold Schwarzenegger as John Matrix from Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series MMS276 1/6th scale "Commando" John Matrix Collectible Figure boxed set in my first part action figure review posted on my toy blog HERE, let's see how the 12-inch figure (this Arnold is 32cm in height, taller than your average "Joe") looks with everything loaded on him, and I do mean EVERYTHING. This Hot Toys MMS276 John Matrix from the 1985 "Commando" film comes with a lot of weapons and accessories, lots more than many of the figures Hot Toys has released.

The picture above shows Hot Toys MMS276 John Matrix (Arnold Schwarzenegger) 12-inch figure taking aim as he prepares to fire the 1/6th scale M202A1 FLASH (FLame Assault SHoulder Weapon), an American rocket launcher designed to replace the World War II vintage flamethrowers (such as the M1 and the M2) that remained the military's standard incendiary devices well into the 1960s. The M202 is based on the prototype XM191 napalm rocket launcher that saw extensive testing in the Vietnam War. Be sure to check out all the other weapons this figure comes with.

Review 1: Hot Toys MMS276 1/6th scale Arnold Schwarzenegger as John Matrix 12-inch Figure

You can buy this from Sideshow Collectibles

Somewhere... somehow... someone's going to pay

Commando is a 1985 American action thriller film about a retired elite Black Ops operator (Green Beret) who launches a one man war against a group of South American criminals who have kidnapped his daughter to blackmail him into starting a revolution and getting an exiled dictator back into power. The film was released in the United States on October 4, 1985. Today marks the 30th anniversary of the film which makes this 12-inch action figure review on my toy blog rather appropriate.

The original concept was for an Israeli special forces Mossad agent who, sick of the continual death and destruction in the Middle East, emigrates from Israel to the United States, where he is forced out of his self-imposed retirement after his daughter is kidnapped. This was modified and further adapted when Schwarzenegger was cast; some of the original dialogue can be heard in the deleted scenes when Matrix says he regrets his past actions.

The Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series MMS276 1/6th scale John Matrix Collectible Figure specially features: Newly developed head sculpt with authentic and detailed likeness of Arnold Schwarzenegger as John Matrix in Commando, including Movie-accurate facial expression with detailed wrinkles, skin texture, and war paint. Each piece of head sculpt is specially hand-painted. Approximately 32 cm tall Newly developed muscular body with seamless upper body and over 26 points of articulations, Seven (7) pieces of interchangeable palms including: One (1) pair of fists, One (1) right palm for gun holding, One (1) right palm for holding rocket launcher holding, One (1) left palm for holding knife, One (1) left palm for supporting machine gun, One (1) left palm for supporting rocket launcher

Review II: Square Enix Play Arts Kai "Batman: Arkham Knight" 1/7th scale Arkham Knight figure

continued from previous post...

Like I said before, I never liked a Batman villain more than I like this latest bad guy: Arkham Knight. It's probably because he looks a lot like Batman and would have been Batman in another world if Batman ever decided to go with more armor in his fight against crime and injustice. As it stands, Arkham Knight wants Batman to know he dresses like him and fights like him because he knows him on a deeper level. It was an emotional / psychological battle as much as it was physical.

Other than 12-inch figures, I think the next best scale so far for me are these 1/7th scale action figures which are about 10 inches tall. At this size, they can have very nice details and sculpts done with more than enough articulation to get some dynamic / dramatic poses in. This is my second part action figure review of the Square Enix Play Arts Kai "Batman: Arkham Knight" 1/7th scale Arkham Knight figure posted on my toy blog and in this entry are the action pose shots for your viewing pleasure.
